Welcome to Centre des Femmes Solidaires et Engagées
Need a listening ear and someone to talk to?
In a welcoming setting, our center offers individual services to empower women. With a feminist approach, we provide active listening, support, referrals, and accompaniment for women who are experiencing or have experienced intimate partner violence.
OUR HISTORY
Formally established and incorporated in 1978, Centro Donne started its operations on Boulevard St. Michel. It primarily served women from Montreal's Italian community. The initiative was led by a group of young women from Il Collettivo, who were members of the Italo-Québécois Association of Culture, which was formed in the 1970s. This association was composed of young intellectuals, students, and individuals committed to fostering discussions and promoting progressive ideas to give the community a voice.
